    1. Demographic edge: huge workforce with low dependency ratio<\/h2>\n

    A huge workforce. The working population is only 50% of the total in 2023, but that equals to almost 140 million people. Employment rate is at 94.5%, 0.4% higher than in 2022. Relatively young workforce. 44% of the working population is aged 20 to 39 years old. Low dependency ratio. 0.6 per employed person hence there is less burden for the working population, resulting in a boost to GDP. Decent female participation in the workforce with 36% of adult (18+) females are working. The workforce is reasonably priced. <\/strong>2023 minimum monthly wages in Jakarta are ~US$326. This is similar to the minimum in Guangzhou ~US$322.<\/p>\n

    2. GDP growth rate has recovered to pre-pandemic level with a positive trend<\/h2>\n

    Indonesia\u2019s GDP growth in 2024 is expected to reach 5%. Indonesia\u2019s per capita GDP in 2022 was US$4,783. The Indonesian economy grew by 5% in 2022 with a continued rise in foreign direct investment disbursements by 47%. Key sectors like manufacturing, agriculture, trade, and mining enjoy decent growth while the big winners are transportation and warehousing sector with 15% year-on-year growth and accommodation and F&B with 10% year-on-year growth. Considering all these, it is expected that Indonesia\u2019s GDP will grow by 5% in 2024.<\/p>\n

    3. Positive business sentiment and increased investment<\/h2>\n

    Indonesia entrepreneurs are becoming more confident as indicated by the 18% increase of Business Tendency Index (BTI) in Q2 2023 compared to the same period last year. In addition to West Java, Central Sulawesi is also one of the provinces with highest amount of investment.<\/p>\n

    4. Continuous recovery of retail<\/h2>\n

    Increasing number of retail outlets, both traditional and modern, in 2022 compared to 2021. In addition, the total retail sales value has also been trending positively since 2020.<\/p>\n

    5. Flourishing digital economy and e-commerce<\/h2>\n

    Digital economy is increasing in size by 22% in 2022 compared to the previous year. Indonesia people love to shop online, with electronics, furniture, and fashion goods top the list of e-commerce sales in terms of value. This trend is driven by younger productive segment, mainly millennials and Gen Z.<\/p>\n
